Your Perfect Destination Wedding Day Timeline

Each and every wedding is absolutely unique, so this is just a guideline to consider.  We are very flexible and can adjust the timeline according to your wedding day.

We find 7-8 hour coverage works really well for most couples, but we can offer smaller and more extensive packages depending on what you like.

Wedding Details

Ideal time:  30 minutes

Having about 30 minutes for details, will guarantee to get a perfect photo of your beautiful dress, rings, shoes and other details

Getting Ready

Ideal time: 60 minutes

Julia (our lead photographer) usually stays with the girls while they are getting ready, while Mark (second photographer) photographs the guys during this time.  Enjoy some of your most fun and relaxed moments of the wedding day, while we capture you getting ready with your bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Getting ready tip: Call housekeeping service ahead of time to make sure your room looks neat and tidy.

First Look and Daytime Portrait Session

Ideal time:  45-60 minutes

First look is completely optional but if you decide to do one, enjoy your intimate moments with just the love of your life before the ceremony.  The actual first look only takes a few moments, but the rest of the time can be spent on some pre-ceremony couple portraits.

Ceremony

Average time: 30 minutes

Most of the destination wedding ceremonies take about 30 minutes on average.

Group Photos and Family Formals

Ideal time: 45-60 minutes

Depending on the size of your group, family formals usually take about 45 minutes.  Weddings mean a lot to the family members and we want to make sure to capture everyone.  We usually do a group photo of everybody attending right after the ceremony and continue with individual group photos.

Wedding Party Photos

Ideal time: 30 minutes

Your wedding party means a lot to you, so we want to make sure to get enough photos of you with your bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Couples Session

Ideal time: 45-60 minutes

This is the time for some classic portraits as well as creative shots of just two of you.  If the time and weather permits we love to include colourful sunset skies and beautiful scenic shots.

If your reception begins before sunset, we can sneak out for a few minutes during dinner for some beautiful sunset shots.

Reception

Ideal time: 3-4 hours

Dinner usually takes about two hours and most speeches happen during this time.  We recommend allocating 3-4 hours for reception coverage, so we can document speeches, cake cutting, first dance, bouquet and garter toss and some of the other most fun, emotional and crazy moments of your wedding day.  Party photos are our specialty and are some of the favourite and most unique in our clients albums.

Reception tip: If you are booking a smaller package with us, you can plan to do your first dance at the beginning of your reception (right after your grand entrance), so we have a chance to photograph that special moment.
